Counselling and resources for parents navigating family life, neurodiversity and change
Parent counselling for the child who feels like a lot
— and the parent who feels like they're failing
What is your child's behaviour really trying to communicate?
Welcome. I'm Louise Hadfield, and I'm committed to empowering parents who seek a deeper understanding of their child's behaviour. From neurodiversity and emotional challenges, to separation and unexpected conversations, I've got the expertise to guide you. I offer both online and in-person sessions in Bowral from $150, with NDIS invoicing available. Together, we will navigate this journey with compassion.
You're a parent
(or adult here to heal your inner child)
You've tried it ALL!
talking, begging, pleading, threatening, rewarding, bribing
And sometimes it works.
For a day - maybe a week
Then somehow...you're back in the same pattern again...
So, you start searching
You ask; parents, friends, doctors, therapists, healers, tarot cards
Surely someone must know the answer?
And you are right.
Someone does.
The part that's harder to hear?
The answer is inside you
Children’s behaviour is rarely random
It often mirrors the emotional patterns they are growing inside
You may not be here to heal your inner child
You might just want your child to;
listen, clean up after themselves, stop yelling, make better decisions, stop acting out
That makes sense
But here is the pattern most parents come to discover:
Your child's behaviour is not happening in isolation
It is responding to the emotional patterns inside the family system
Your conditioning - Your nervous system - Your inner child - Your reactions
When you begin to see those patterns clearly...Everything starts to shift.
Often the challenge is not behaviour alone.
It is the emotional, sensory and relational patterns shaping how children move through the world. When parents begin to see these deeper dynamics more clearly, something powerful begins to change
Confusion softens - Communication improves - Connection returns

At Heal the Parent Heal the Child, I work with parents who are ready to look beneath the behaviour.
Together we explore:
-
emotional patterns shaping the family dynamics
-
nervous system responses driving reactions
-
communication styles within the family system
Many of the parents I support are navigating:
-
neurodiversity in the family
-
emotional overwhelm or shutdown
-
separation or major life transitions
-
complex conversations around boundaries, puberty or identity
This work is not about fixing children
It is about helping parents see the patterns clearly enough that change becomes possible.
And when parents shift...
Children do too
When parents begin to see these patterns clearly, they often want guidance in how to shift them
That’s where the work begins
