A Bit About Me
Louise Hadfield is the heart behind Heal the Parent Heal the Child, a parent educator, therapeutic resource creator, and advocate for neuro-affirming family support.
Louise's work is grounded in one powerful belief:
When a parent heals, regulates and understands themselves, everything shifts for the child.
Louise specialises in supporting parents raising neurodiverse children, including those with ADHD, autism, sensory differences and emotional regulation challenges. Through practical tools, reflection-based guidance and nervous system-informed strategies, she helps families move away from shame and behaviour control and facilitates movement toward connection, clarity and confidence.
Her approach blends therapeutic insight with real-life parenting experience. It is calm, compassionate and deeply practical.
Louise is also the voice behind Ramblings of a Healing Parent, where she speaks openly about the realities of parenting neurodiverse children. The exhaustion, the growth, the guilt, the breakthroughs and the healing.
At the centre of all her work is this message:
You are not failing. You are learning and you don’t have to do it alone.

Who Is My Parent Coaching For?
This support is ideal if you're:
-
Parenting a neurodivergent child (ADHD, Autism, PDA, DLD, sensory needs, giftedness, etc.)
-
Feeling overstretched, overwhelmed or unsure how to respond
-
Watching your child struggle at home, at school or with friends
-
Wanting connection over compliance and understanding over punishment
-
Ready to change unhelpful patterns without shaming yourself
My approach is neuro-affirming and parent-centred. It honours your child’s nervous system and your own.
What to Expect in a Session
Every session is personalised, but we might explore:
-
Understanding your child’s meltdowns, shutdowns and “big behaviours"
-
Mapping your child’s sensory and emotional regulation patterns
-
Creating scripts and phrases that support safety and connection
-
Supporting transitions (school mornings, screens, bedtime, handovers, etc.)
-
Your own triggers, fatigue and emotional load
-
Small, realistic changes you can make at home that create real shifts over time
This is not about “fixing” your child. It’s about supporting you so you can show up with more clarity, calm and confidence.
